4.15..Feet up high to the Citgo Sign

I'm never sure if it's wise to run the day after cardio bootcamp but I did it anyway. I thought it would  be good to run along the Charles River and so I did. To my surprise there was so much construction going on along the on and around the Esplanade that I had to route my run. The 6 miles that I thought I was going to do ended up being 4.15

I ran from Cambridge into Boston. As I was running across the Charles I saw that Citgo Sign. I always see it from afar. Today I wanted to see it close up. That was my first target on my " 6 mile" humpday run. Next target was to run along the Esplanade.

Run, Run, Run

It wasn't even 6am and the runners were on the Esplanade in full explosion. This part of the city you will see that. Young, old, men, women, white, and white.

Run and Class

I am always aware of the social class dynamics while running. To run in the a.m. and  have more than $100 of clothing and gear is a privilege and some might say a luxury. Meanwhile there are folks who are going to work or even at work. Today there were lots of men before 6a.m. working on bridges and roads along my running route.

Not even seeing people working but people who are homeless and in despair before 6a.m. I see them too as I continue with my luxurious before 6a.m. run. I  had the privilege of  getting out of my bed and house and choice to run this morning.

The juxtaposition of people and what I see while running never ends.
