B.A.A. Half Marathon- Race weekend part I

This starts the Indigenous day weekend which is also a running volunteering/cheering weekend. Today I am cheering and supporting our members running and volunteering at the B.A.A half marathon and tomorrow I’m doing the same for the Reebok Women’s 10k. On Monday we’ll have our tent at the event.

Today, Sunday I’m doing double duty. The half starts at Franklin Park with is across the street from my church. My plan is to go to the race, cheer and mingle( race starts at 8 a.m.), then go to church( starts at 9 a.m.). When church lets out, go back over to the race.

I honestly felt weird wearing my running gear to church because that happens…..never. The B.A.A. race had close to 10,000 people running. So glad it was a nice day to run. I’m proud of my ladies because they hit the jackpot for volunteering. They were in the Distance Medley tent. Which translates to the VIP tent. This year we had one person running the B. A. A half. One or ten, we still support.

I saw the runners cross the start line and I saw our BGR sole sista. I saw so the rest of the #girlgang crew. We chatted and did our photo shoot. I moved my way to church and chatting, prayed, and socialize with my church peeps. I listen to the homily and took up communion.

I left a little early and went back to the race to cheer on the team.

run and church…..check!
