Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Deadwood

Before we leave Deadwood I wanted an early a.m. running tour of the the town. I ran up a hill, a steep hill to Mt. Moriah Cemetery which overlooks Deadwood and the Black Hills .Wild Bill and Calamity Jane are buried here. Along with miners who people who made there way out west. What was surprising was a Jewish section in the cemetery. Looking at the headstones, a lot of young people are buried here.

In the quiet respectful beauty of the place I saw three deer. They looked at me, I looked at them and that was the end of it. It was good to see the town from uptop
