Track and leaves

COVID-19, “The Rona Era”

Tiffany Track Tuesday is here. So did not want to get out of bed. I gave into my Neflix’s guilty pleasure and binged watched the 4th season of the Crown. I was up by 4 a.m. to finish episode 9. By 5 a.m. I knew I needed to start moving. By 5:40 a.m. I made it out there door without my headlight. The closer it is to 6 a.m. the lighter it becomes. Unlike yesterday, I was running in my neighborhood and I know where all the streets lights are when I run.

When I run to the track it was quiet again. Not a single soul was around. The track was all mine. I wasn’t into running today. Part of the reason could be my period is about to start and I feel extra heavy and tired. I persist.

About 2.23 miles in , I felt my groove coming. I also took off my jacket, which made a difference. I think I had too much clothing on and I added more weight to a heavy period body. Then I felt a little joy and bounce in my step. The air got a bit warmer and the colors of the sky had captured my eye.

I continued to run strong on the track when I noticed a pile of leaves, a big pile of leaves. After completing another mile, I walked over to the leaves. Truth be told I wanted to jump into the pile but I didn’t. I did have a good time throwing the leaves in the air and walking in the pile. That added more to my joy because I ran home.

What was a hard” struggle to get up”, was a fun, strong, and good 4.12 mile run.
