Covid- 19 “The Rona”

Sometimes the best plans do not happen. This was going to be my morning run. I had plenty of sleep. I got up early. I was ready to run. It was early and I was going to get my run in before it got hot today, in the high 80s low 90s. The plan was to run across the river( Cambridge/Somerville) side and explore some new places. I had picked out my spot to park my car. At 5:55a.m on a thursday, I could not find parking. Legal parking. Normally there would be so many spots available. This was a no go. I wasn’t worried because I had 2 to 3 more spots that I could park and run. I could park along Memorial Drive by MIT, Kendall Square, I had spots. Surprise, all of my spots were gone. Cars were in all my spots. I soon realized that many of the construction workers were back at work. I saw the hard hats and florescent T-shirts. There is so much construction that was halted, parking was easy. There was no one around.

But everyone is back. I drove around for 30 minutes trying to find a spot to park before I could run. 30 minutes of wasted time where I could have been running. There was no place to park so early. I was wasting time, gas, and energy. I had to do something before my 7:45 a.m. call. I just said F it and drove home. Instead of going home I went to Mallory Park in Chelsea, one city over.

Everybody and their mamma was out running and walking before 6:30 a.m.. I even so people playing tennis. I was just taken back. Plus because of the city of Chelsea, I saw so many racially diverse people in the park.. That is something I normally do not see when I run in different places.

At this point it was getting later. I decided, do 1 mile. That is what I did. It took me 11 minutes. Luckily it was a cool morning before the heat cometh.
