30 degree beach run

30 degree beach run

COVID-19, “The Rona Era”

Today is a lot “ warmer” than the last two days. We are expecting another snow storm this weekend so I wanted to take advantage of the “ nice” morning weather. I thought this would be a good morning to run on the beach. A winter beach run, of course :).

I made it to the beach around 6:15 a.m. I forgot I had to get gas this morning, which made my running start later than I had wanted. I’m slowly getting back to getting up early. When the semester starts, I will have to be out of the house by 5:15a.m. to run, shower, change, and drive to work by 7 a.m. for my 8 a.m. class. Right now, it’s baby steps.

For the beach run I wasn’t as layered down as I was yesterday. Hat, vest, headlight, cold weather top, and tights. The beach was quiet, the sand was hard, and there was a pink tint in the sky. I saw two other people running on the beach this morning. As soon as it started to get lighter, I did see more people walking on the beach. I had a good strong run. I did get a bit of cramps, period cramps- but I had to let that pass before I continued running. That was the only bump in the road this morning. Otherwise it was a nice morning to run.

3.76 a.m. miles complete. :)
