5k kind of Monday

5k kind of Monday

COVID-19, “The Rona Era”

And it’s Monday! I hit snooze twice on my phone. The original 5:15a.m alarm to get out of bed didn’t really move me until 5:50a.m. I got up! I didn’t do any stretching, which I need to do before the day is over. I changed clothes, made coffee, and left the Iowan’s house for my walk on the Mystic River Reservation. I arrived around 6:23a.m. At least traffic wasn’t too bad.

If I had gotten up soon, I might have walked 4 miles. Since I had a 8:30a.m. meeting, 5k walk was going to have to do this morning.

I saw three black women walking this running. That was exciting. We smiled at each other as we passed by. The rowers were on the river, rowing away and the stalker geese were everywhere. It was a nice morning until around mile 2, when things start to get muggy and I started sweating.

I’m still walking a 5k in 55 minutes. Since this is week 3 of post surgery recovery, my goal this week is to pick up the pace.
