Not the miles I wanted

Not the miles I wanted

COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”

It’s dark outside. Now sunrise happens at 7:05a.m. Did I mention it is dark outside. Yesterday was mom’s birthday. She would have been 77 years young. Yesterday, I talked to my freshman about the war in the middle east and it was heavy. Yesterday was a day. Last night I had to have dessert and Prosecco to celebrate mom.

All that to say, getting up was a struggle. I tried to get up and out by 5a.m. to run 8 miles and then have my Thursday 7a.m. chat with Beverly. I tried but it did not happen. I started running at 6 a.m. I completed 5 miles by 7 a.m.

This morning it felt like summer. It was warm. I might have over dressed a bit. The dark, quiet, and calm of the morning, especially around the water was perfect to start the day.

Same issue, new day…hydration and nutrition. I could have used a boost. Still working on this. This Saturday, I’m suppose to run 11 miles. We’ll see.

My main goal is to get my legs and body use to running long miles. I have to get ready for this half marathon in November. I think three weeks away now. All I can do is keep pushing.

5 miles; 56:17, 11:14
