10k Thursday Muggy
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
Yesterday was strength training Wednesday, today is 10k Thursday. My legs are tired. I need to do some active recovery. I was out of the house by 5:45a.m. And it took a while to get my legs warmed up. Already it was muggy and I was sweating.
I was determined to get a 10k in. I really need to start running on a regular basis. I’m still not sure if I am going to run the Every women’s Marathon. I don’t know if I have it in me to train during the summer. This is something that I’ve never done before. Something out of my comfort zone for sure. Still thinking about it.
This morning my goal was to run to Chelsea and go to Mary O’Mallery park- which is by the Tobin bridge. It’s been a while since I ran over there.
Early in the morning, I feel like a gentifier. I was passing people in work uniforms going to work, starting work. People were waiting on the bus, they were on packed busses. All going to work. Here I am on my leisure morning run. I did see two people running, two white men running this morning.
I had to slow myself down because I am not a fan of running in heat or mugginess. I guess I need to learn. I think my goal is a 10 or 10:30min/mil. I know if I have the proper nutrition, that could be possible.
I was hungry and my legs felt heavy. This 50 year old body is not the same as the 40 year old one I had ten years ago.
It was a good morning to run.
