Thursday moon 5k
ERA of WTF….joy and resistance
It’s dark and cold, dark and cold. The moon is still out at 5 a.m. Hello Fall, I guess you are here. I have not run in my neighborhood in a long time. The last six weeks or so, I’m been working on healing and getting stronger. My runs have been limited to two days a week and strength training two days a week.
Saturday is the Boston 10k for women. I should get my body running a bit. This morning did a 5k. I could not believe that I had to find my lights and other reflective gear. Tis the season. I may have to refresh my stock because I could not find my headlights. I found something. I was lit a bit, as I ran through my hood. It was fun to see the Halloween decorations that were up. I’m glad the moon was my guide this morning. She was very full and very bright.
For the first mile of running, I was slowly finding my groove. By miles 2 and 3, I had my pace. This is good to know before doing the 10k. I honestly can’t remember the last time I did a 10k. I think 5 miles might have been my longest run in months. This tells me, I need to get back to moving and training, so I can run a half.
For know it was a 5k to get ready for the 10k. Glad I got my miles in.
