Era of WTF…..joy and resistance

In the past week, Trump was boo’ed at the US open. What president goes to the US open when there is a country to govern. The supreme court said that race is a factor for kidnapping and detaining citizens. Yet, college admission should be colorblind and not use race. Race is “ common sense”. Who needs the 4th amendment, that’s just crazy.

To burn off the crazy, we are running two 10 minute tempo runs and then 4x400s at 10k and 5k pace. I made sure to rest, ice, and anti-inflammation my knee. I was ready to run. Monday was strength training at the Y and it wasn’t bad. Surely, I would be good for track Tuesday.

Driving to the MIT stadium it felt as if fall was knocking on summer’s door. It was still dark and 56 of a crisp chill in the air. Once we got there, the track gate was still locked. And the Navy young bloods were waiting outside the gate too. I assume they need to get their runs on as well.

Side note: I met a guy who is on the Majors Marathon kick. He’s doing Berlin in a couple of weeks. He told me that the Majors, motivated him to travel. Once his “ friend” ( his words not mine), helped him to get into Boston ( Marathon) he might as well, finish the other 6. Now 7. He finished the majors in two years. I just kept thinking about all that money and time. What kind of job and lifestyle does he have. Those are always my questions. This hobby of ours in not cheap. Especially when you buy into the elite-ness of it.

Today at Track it was also like Christmas, once we were inside and the gate was unlocked. Hustle Russell, the Nike Rep, had shoes and hats for us. We were asked to do a promo shot for the shoes. You know I’m am down for a promo shoot. Unfortunately, he didn’t have my shoes but I still got my promo shot in.

This is the time of year when we see the sun rising and the moon at the same time. I always get excited about this. Moon to right, sun to left.
