Last INDOOR TRACK TUESDAY

Last INDOOR TRACK TUESDAY

ERA of…………WTF……………..joy and resistance

Now it finally feels like spring.

It was 62 degrees before 6 a.m., and the sky was painted with reds, yellows, and blues. And just like that—today was it. The last indoor Track Tuesday at the Reggie.

We started back in January and showed up every Tuesday through what felt like a very long, very cold winter, all the way to April 14. The weather definitely messed with our routine a bit. We had two Track Tuesdays canceled, and then the past couple of weeks the Reggie wasn’t even open at our usual time. So… we adjusted and started running outside.

Today’s workout was 8 x 200s at 5K pace with 90 seconds rest. But honestly, it didn’t feel like just a workout—it felt like a party. Kind of like the last day of school before a break. Everyone was lighter, laughing more, just enjoying it.

This season wasn’t easy, but it was full. I cursed, laughed, smiled, danced, and ran a lot of sweaty miles. Somehow, we always manage to have more fun before 8 a.m. than most people do all day.

What really keeps me coming back is the people. Knowing others are getting up just as early, showing up in the dark, and choosing to do this together—that’s the motivation. I almost had perfect attendance as a pacer this season. I only missed one Tuesday—last week—because I had a conference. And of course, that was the day they had to run outside… in the snow. Meanwhile, I was flying to Jacksonville, Florida—the same day my plane had to be de-iced. Boston in April is wild.

I’ve loved being part of Team Red. I’m really proud to pace this group. I do wish I hadn’t missed last week, especially since a couple of the women came out before heading off to big races—the Paris Marathon and the Cherry Blossom race in D.C. I didn’t get to give them a proper send-off.

But today wasn’t about that. It was about celebrating everything we’ve done over these past few months.

In our Red group alone, we’ve got people heading into marathons and half marathons this week. We’re a mix of ages, body types, and backgrounds—and that’s exactly what makes it special.

This is what runners look like.
