Cool June Track Tuesday
ERA of WTF……………………resistance and joy
The 62-degree weather decided to join us for Track Tuesday today. Yes, please and thank you!
I had chill bumps, but there was no way I was putting on a jacket. I wanted to embrace this perfect morning running weather.
Today’s workout was a timed mile trial as we get ready for the Mob Mile in August. I ran a 9:40 mile. Not bad—yay me! Could I keep that pace up for 13.1 miles? No. Could I do it if I really trained? Possibly. But I’m not in that headspace right now.
What matters is that I felt good and was able to run the mile. Track was quieter than usual this morning. It’s that time of year when people are on vacation, tied up with work, or staying up late watching the World Cup. There’s a lot of World Cup excitement happening right now.
Along with that, there’s the unveiling of the Obamas’ portrait at the Obama Center, which is incredibly exciting. It’s a celebration of joy, brilliance, and the power of a global community that is inclusive of everyone.
