State #11: Alabama

STATE #11: Alabama:  Servis First Bank First Light Marathon and Half; Mobile, AL 

Finished Time: 2:08:02. Overall 241 out of 746 for halfs. Total: 1,119 people 

January 10, 2016 

Highlights:  

1. First time doing 2 races back to back. Like running a marathon with a 12 hour break in between. 

2. Flat, lovely, zigzag route, and the porches.

3. Mobile is the home of Mardi Gras and this is the start of Mardi Gras season. Houses had flags, beads, ornaments with purple, gold, and green. And crimson tide flags too.

4. Predominantly a lot of white runners, totally different from Jackson race.

5. My body hit a wall and said screw you at mile 10.

6. Took my first selfie while running

7. Ran next to a man that talked to me for 2 miles straight...didn't hear a damn thing he said.

8. Told myself that I ran a marathon so I could overcome my wall...and I did.

9. 3 medals in 48 hours.
