Caution and Motivation

Caution and Motivation

Humpday = cold ass running day. This a.m. was a total struggle. It's 24 degrees out and it's that time of the month and I had no motivation and desire to run this a.m. If I couldn't do my 10k humpday run, I should at least get 1 mile in.

As I was reading my news feeds, I was motivated by the fabulous force of  African-American women in Alabama that made sure Doug Jones won the Senate race. My assets can  run a mile in the cold with my cramps.

I laced up and headed out. My bad for not wearing gloves, which added to the pain but I  ran.  My fuel for thought was my student who completed her Directed Study in  African-American Studies and she learned and read about Black Feminist such as Bell hooks, Patricia Hill Collins, Angela Davis, Dorothy Roberts, and more. Today finding out the continuing role of  African-American women to change the social landscape......

So, yes, I ran my mile  without gloves. Yes, I didn't let outdoor  obstacles get in  my way. Yes, I ran this a.m.
