African American Side of NOLA

African American Side of NOLA

Last Run in New Orleans before I leave. Since I was not able to do my 10k a.m. humpday run because I left Boston on Wednesday, Friday was my 10k a.m. run. I wanted to run on the "black side" of town. The neighborhood racial segregation in this city is large. It tends to be invisible by tourist.  I was intention to make sure to support and let my fellow African-American folks know that Black Girls do run. It's historic- the birthplace of Jazz and first African-American neighborhood community. This is the " otherside" of the French Quarter.

I saw and felt the stares while running. I wonder how many people, especially non-white folks run through this part of town, which is beautiful. Glad I'm ending my run here.
