Slow down

Slow down

We are beyond half way through the year. It's July 1st and already by 5:30 a.m. it's bright and 77 degrees out. The plan was a long run but not today. Do I have to get up at 2 a.m. now to run for some coolness? I know that to conserve energy and just be an overall smart runner, I need to jog and run at my pace. I opted to run 7.16 miles for a.m run. at 5:30 a.m. The longer I ran the hotter it was.

Because of the 4th of July holy weekend, the streets were quiet. I did see, as I ran along the beach for some coolness more homeless or distress people out. Some had slept outside for the night and  were just waking up. Others were just seeing on benches  and staring at the ocean.  Another man was just walking aimlessly  around.

Here I am complaining  about the heat when I can run home to my air-conditioned house.

Oh July, your so not my favorite month for many reasons. I have 14 days to get ready for State #37 and this is the condition I'm going to be running in.

It's just me
