19 Weeks of training starts today: Baseline 11:03/min/mile

I haven’t run, really run in 15 days. 15 days seems like forever. Now don’t get me wrong, I’ve been moving. I’ve walked with GOTR, roller skated, and gone to the Cal-zone for Tabata, strong30, and Cardio-bootcamp. But I haven’t run. I’ve been going to PT for 3 weeks now. I’m feeling better, which means I”m at 80%.

When I looked at my calendar, I realized that State #47 is 19 weeks away. Now would be a good time to slowly start. For me, waiting until the first of the year doesn’t make sense. Today, Monday I’m starting.

Today I ran a 5k for Monday. Around mile 1 started to feel a tightness in my calve. So noted. A light jog was my goal. I ran 3.16 miles at a 11:03min/mile. I finished in 34:55. That is my baseline.

I need to know where I’m starting in order to know how far I have progressed.
