Friday Mask

Friday Mask

COVID-19, ‘The Rona Era”

Before I ran, I turned on the news. The breaking news this morning was Donald Trump and his wife tested positive for COVID. I have so many thoughts about that, especially the news comes a month before the election. There something to be said about not wearing your mask to prevent the spread of the Rona.

The first Friday of the month, I got to chat with Dr. and Mrs. King about social justice, running, and democracy. Later in my run through Roxbury, South End, and Boston Commons, and Public Gardens, I chatted with the ducklings about wearing mask. Of course, as usual, they were on it.

Running in parts of the South End, I saw a running group. It may have been one or two. I was wearing my headlight while running. These folks had no headlight and I don’t think some of them had on mask because I could hear talking in the group. They all looked like a stereotypical running group.

I didn’t see anyone who looked like me while running this morning- just a side note to note. In Roxbury, where I parked my car to start the run, there is a workout gym that is buit next to a new Marriott Hotel. All the workout participates were these young white men and women. Clearly they must live in the neighborhood or close by. It’s bizzare because the hotel, the gym, and the workout participates are surround by black culture. There mural of Dr. and Mrs. King talking are on the side of this hotel. Many more thoughts while running.

Another 4. 35 miles done for the first Friday of the month.
