1st Day of Kwanzaa Run

1st Day of Kwanzaa Run

COVID-19, “The Rona Era”

Christmas day, nothing happened. It was a lazy, restful, and nice day. I had no energy or desire to leave the house. It was a day of eating, drinking, and chatting with friends and family. Christmas day was not a white christmas day but a non stop wet, windy, and rainy day. That was yesterday. Today, Saturday, is a whole new day. Today is a run some miles and move my body morning. The rain has stop and I have to take advantage of this and smell the new freshness of the air.

I decided to run along Castle Island and Carson Beach for the post christmas run. Today is also the first day of Kwanzaa, Umoja, which means unity.

The start of my run was quiet and cold breezy. I enjoyed having the island to myself. I did pass a couple of runners. But mostly, all I saw were walkers. Then I saw the stalkers. I didn’t realize there was a stalker conference going on. There were so many of them hanging out on Carson beach. Some on the water , others flying overhead but they were all there.

Unity was happening at this conference. I was amazed and had a chance to get all close to them. Then a couple of stalkers apparently were annoyed at my presence and started to come at me. I stood my ground for a couple of seconds then I walked away quickly.

I resumed running and my left knee started to feel some kind of way. I know my Hoffa Fat Pad was acting up. Not sure if I haven’t been doing squats or taking my vitamins lately to explain the “ funny feeling.” Maybe the stalkers did something to me and I didn’t even know it? I was in a groove and I could have gone 7 miles. 6.20 miles at 1:04:17 and 10:22 min/mil pace I stopped. Then I walked because I didn’t want extra pressure on my knee.

Unity of my body and mind was a good first day of Kwanzaa gift to myself
