Pushing through it

COIVD-19 “The Rona Era”

When I finally get the cool, spring like day I wanted, I want to stay in bed and not run. It’s chilly and nice and I wanted to stay under the covers. But that did not happen. This is a time to take advantage of the cool.

By 5:45a.m. it was 71 degrees, breezy, and rain was coming. For today’s 10k a.m. humpday run I ran on Deer Island. I made sure to park a mile away at the marina down the street so I could have more running mileage. Unlike yesterday, I hardly saw anyone out running.

When I had a mile under my belt and reached Deer Island, I saw more cyclist riding their bikes around the island then walkers or runners. I kept a strong steady pace and my knees felt good. Heck the air and ocean breeze felt good.

I did a couple of times stopped, walked for a 30 second count and then continued to run. After circling the island I headed back to my car. On the way back I saw several “Voting” stickers. I need November to be hear like yesterday. Four months until November. When I ran past the “pods” as I like to call them, I wished I could be the virus, and all the racist, sexist, homophobic people in them. Along with several politicians who need a big time out. A girl can dream.

Running back to my car, my run ended at 4.56 miles and not 6. Could I have reached six miles , yes. I made several excuses such as the rain( because it has started), being late( it was now past 7 a.m.), and I was tired( not fueling properly) . Next Wednesday, the last Wednesday of the year, I will do a 10k a.m. run
