Making all kinds of faces for Track Tuesday

COVID-19 “ The Rona”

Today is day number three of our heat wave. It is 80 degrees at 6 a.m. It doesn’t matter how early I would get up and run today , it still was going to be hot. It’s track Tuesday and I was not in the mood to run on my local track. I had to force myself to do it. I got creative and decided to go to a different track to run today. Today I went to the Harvard Track, which is adjacent to Harvard Stadium. I originally was going to run in the stadium but do to COVID, they locked that down. I ran on the McCurdy Outdoor Track.

This was a different experience then my neighborhood track. There were hardcore runners on this track. Hardcore to me is bringing different pairs of running/ track shoes to switch out of. And people brought their own weights for a core workout before they ran. I think I might have been the only person who was walking on the track to warm up.

And of course it was hot. My thought, why are you all running so fast when it’s hot? I did see an Asian American man and a black woman doing weights together and one black woman doing squats. I did see three more black men running and doing weight training and listen to two white women talk about their fastest times and what running was like in grad school.

Here I come running by with my Black Girls Run hat, read shorts , and some pink-blue-ish top. Besides the one black man running, I was the only person on the track with headphones and music. All the different kind of runners on this track in 82 degree weather.

I ran 1.59 miles on the track at a 9:49 pace. I just hate running around and around. I would have stayed longer but I had to get ready to for zoom meetings.

Tuesday.
