Saturday 5k Shake Out

Saturday 5k Shake Out

COVID-19, “The Rona Era”

Today felt like a nice fall a.m. morning. This is perfect weather. Instead of trying to run a long run today or even Sunday, I’m running a 5k in Franklin Park with my other ambassador, Katonya. She asked me and several other ladies if we wanted to do a 6 a.m. 5k shake out run. Monday Katonya is running in the Boston Marathon.

This year it is virtual and over seven days that runners get a chance to run 26.2 miles. Katonya picked Monday, Labor day, as her day.

Also, see is apart of the Boston Marathon Honorary Team. One of the local news crews came out to film her this morning. She wanted to tailgate her shake run and continue her birthday celebration.

She turned 45 on the 4th of September, and what a way to start a newly minted 45 years young body.

We ran 3.1 miles around Franklin Park at 6a.m. To my surprise there were lots of people out this morning. Golfing, walking, and just hanging out. When we started it was dark, light came quickly.

Katonya and I kept a steady pace and we talked and ran, which is something that I don’t do. We kept on pace with each other and it was great.

Afterwards, we had a dance party celebration in the parking lot of the Golf Course, before I left to go get COVID-19 tested.

Oh what a Saturday
