5 miler Thursday

5 miler Thursday

COVID-19, “The Rona Era”

Today is suppose to be the “ pick of the week” for the best weather day. This morning it was 66 degrees. Perfect running weather. It wasn’t rainy or humid. This morning, I planned better than yesterday. At 5:30a.m. I hit the pavement. If my goal is to leave the house by 7:30a.m. for radiation, I have to get up early for my run, shower, eat, relax, and not be rushed before I go. All the things I have to do. :)

My running goal this morning was five miles. I can’t remember the last time I ran a 5 miler. I know it was before surgery, maybe longer than that. Running early will give me time to gauge my pace and establish a baseline.

As I started to run, daylight was slowly starting to show her face. I felt like I was chasing the sun as she slowly started to make her way high in the sky.

While running, I forgot how busy it is at 5:30. People are going to work. The buses are running and everyone is getting their DD coffee.

I made sure to run in the streets and up a couple of inclines before running to. Chelsea In Chelsea I went and over the Chelsea bridge. There were a couple of times I had to stop, count for 30 seconds and continue my run.

My groin “ annoyance” is still around. Thou the annoyance level is around a 1 but it still interferes with my running performance.

I ran back to East Boston, through Brenman Street park and the Shipyard Marina. Mixing up the scenery I on my route is always is an extra motivator.

I passed 5 miles and I thought I should run 6. I can run six. I thought against it. Reminding myself to ease into it. Tomorrow will be a 10k run. Today doesn’t have to be a 10k a.m. run.
