Saturday Sunshine and 40 degrees

Saturday Sunshine and 40 degrees

COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”

Saturdays are for sleeping in. I did not want to get out of bed this morning. I did not want to run in the dark this morning. I needed to sleep and wait for light before I ran. Now this means running late for me. Instead of 5/5:30a.m. I ran at 7:45a.m./ closer to 8. Which is normal but my ass felt this was so late.

Since the rain has stopped and it’s suppose to be a lovely clear day, I ran around the Charles Esplanade. My goal was a 10k this morning. Getting up late, wearing more layers, set my mental mood. This is the tricky running weather bit. It’s 40 degrees, sunny, and cold. I think my running tights were too thick and i had on too many upper layers. Plus 8 a.m. is the sweet spot around the Charles. Everyone was out running. Really, everybody. To be honest, I didn’t like it. It was too busy. Loads of runners and rowers in the water.

I had to work through my head and run or walk or do a run/ walk. Half the battle was getting up and driving to memorial drive to run. Now I had to run. I planned my half assed route. I would run towards the Museum of Science but take the Salt and Pepper bridge to run into Boston.

I plugged away. When I got to Boston, my friend Beth, saw me, literally while running to say Hi and Chat. We chatted and ran. I believe beth runs faster than me because I was dying trying to keep up with her ass. :). It was good to see her and she told me about a diverse running crew in East Boston that I didn’t know about.

Information, seeing a familiar face, and miles on the last Saturday of October. Not too bad.
