Scary and Sweaty 5 mile Friday

Scary and Sweaty 5 mile Friday

COVID-19, “The Rona Era”

The last Friday of October. How could that be. This morning is a scary and sweaty kind of run. I ran on the Tri- Community Greenway with my headlight and birdie alarm. The Halloween decorations in yards and around the houses, lit my way for a while. Then I depended on my light and the street lights that would pop up once in a while.

The art in the graffiti tunnel was spot on with Halloween themes of skull heads, grim rippers, and pumpkins. I didn’t have a step plan for miles this morning. I just needed to run since it has been at least three days since my last run.

I ran 5 miles. I thought I could do a 10k but time wasn’t on my side this morning. Tomorrow, I’ll make sure to run a 10k. I’m glad I was out.

On my return back to the Iowan’s house, I ran into the Turkey gang. One of them had the nerve to try to follow me while I was running. I he kept on following me, I would have to wake up the neighborhood with my birdie alarm to get him off my trail.

It was a good running morning. I saw one other runner who had a headlight too. Otherwise it was very quiet.
