Back to the Beach

Back to the Beach

COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”

It has been a long time since I ran on the beach. I can’t remember the last time. Since I didn’t run yesterday for 10k a.m. humpday Wednesday, I thought I would do a 10k on the beach. As of now, the weather in Boston is very pleasant and cool compared to the rest of the country and the 100 degree heat wave that is happening.

I could tell that summer is coming. At 4 a.m. the birds were all up, chirping their hearts away. The birds and the sunlight was calling me to get up and get out. I did just that. I got up and stretched and headed out the door.

The beach at 5:30a.m. was quiet besides the seagulls all being loud. There were people around the beach, greeting the sun and just being in the moment of the morning. I did some more stretching before I started running.

I started slow as I eased into the early morning beach flow. As I started running down the beach, I saw more people walking and walking on the beach too. It wasn’t even 6 a.m. yet.

It was a good run with the sky, waves, and miles I was putting on the beach. I didn’t feel tired but I did feel low energy. That was just a reminder to eat a little something before running.

Overall good run.

10:43 mile pace and it 1hr and 4mins for a 10k. I want to work on getting stronger and running a 10k in under an hour.
