September Track Tuesday

September Track Tuesday

COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”

It’s another misty, muggy, and now dark morning. Yesterday was the last sunset that will happen at 7pm. It’s about to get darker sooner. I’m happy that the Sumner Tunnel is now open after 3 months of being closed. That means I can quickly zip over the river to the MIT campus for Track Tuesday.

I wasn’t sure if there was going to be track. I was there at 6 a.m. and no one else was around. It’s dark and rainy this morning. Around 6:04 the pacer team slowly made their way on the track. We couldn’t do our regular warm up on the field because MIT’s ROTC was on the track from 6-7a.m.

It was pretty cool to do our warm up on the track. It was consist circle of stretching and movement on the track.

Today’s joy: All three pacers on team red were today. MB was back from vacation. Jordan stayed with team Red because last Tuesday, she went to blue- they were down a person. Today, we were all together.

The workout was 23 - 200s. at 10k, 5k, 5k, 1mile pace. 90 second break and then we do it again. Between each 200s was a 45 sec break. Lots of running going on. We did over 3 miles today but it felt like we did more. Whew…..Miles and smile…. All complete.
