Tuesday 10k

ERA of WTF……..joy and resistance

We’ll I signed up for a half marathon on Dec. 7th. It’s one of those jingle bell half marathon holiday themed runs. $103 is my running motivation to run this race that I paid for. To get “ training” going, for a race that is 12 days away, I know I need to put more time and miles on my feet. I can’t remember if the Boston 10k for Women in October was the last 10k that I ran.

This morning, I started running at5:45a.m. I had the reflective vest on to run the streets. It was quiet, warm, and nice out. I knew I should at least run for an hour- time on feet.

I finished the 10k at 12:23mile pace and finished in 1 hour and 14 mins. Not bad. While I ran, I was rewarded with a beautiful sunrise with colors of red and yellows. I started off doing interval running and then I ignored the intervals and kept running. Around the 4 mile marker is when I felt my stride kick in. Tomorrow is strength training at the Y. Thursday is 5k turkey trot. Friday I may rest. I need to run for two hours - which will be 10 or11 miles before the weekend is over. Overall I felt good and the muscle memory is kicking in.
