Walk around the Pond

Walk around the Pond

ERA of…..WTF……resistance and joy

Yesterday Fascism became very clear, if it wasn’t already. Renee Nicole Good was shot in the face and killed by ICE in Minneapolis . The governor had to call the National Guard to protect their citizens and state from federal agents. My friend Mo, who is in Minneapolis could hear the protesting from her house. So many thoughts and emotions.

This morning, in the quiet, snow, and ice around Horn Pond, I walked. It was too icy to run. I just wanted to move, to think, to breathe and to just be. The beauty of the sun and peace of the day, I feel are privileges to have, which it shouldn’t be. There was joy in the stillness. I had on my music and I could take my time this morning. No need to rush. Besides the two women I saw walking their dogs, it was just me. Trying to find normality in the abnormal is not easy. I continue to strive for it.

This morning my 1.60 miles was a great way to start the day and get my mind, body, and spirit ready for all that the day holds.
