Run before the Storm

Run before the Storm

The storm is coming, the storm is coming. It's Saturday and the weather reports keep saying that at 10am the snow is going to start coming down and it won't stop until 11pm tonight. I need to get my long run in because next Saturday is state #22.  I can't remember the last time I ran double digits. The last 6 days my runs have been under 10 miles.

I ran 10 miles today to get myself and my body ready. Clearly I was not ready. Around mile 5 I was tired and felt as if I had no energy. Mile 6 was a struggle too. I guess I need to work on my nutrition. Perhaps I'm not eating correctly? I had to stop at least 3 times while running.

Around mile 8, I told myself to finish 2 miles and finish strong. At that moment, back to back Wu Tang was in my ear and Drake telling me to "bounce that shit like whoa". LOL. I had to bounce it like whoa.

I'm going to make sure to drink more water and eat more good carbs. I think the holidays got me all kind of crazy, plus my monthly girlfriend is about to pay me a visit.

Just for body mass purposes, I weighed myself and I was 141.9( normally, I stay under 140 pounds). After my run and because I am trying to do better it was 138.8. I like to be 135 when running races.

This was a good self assessment today. All before the snow came.

Yippee
