COVID-19 “The Rona Era”

Today I am in Providence, Rhode Island, my three day summer “vacation. “ When you are still in zoom meeting and responding to emails, I’m not sure if you call it a vacation. It is good to get out of Boston for a couple of days and be in a different environment for some new energy. I took Track Tuesday off to just rest and not run in Providence. Normally I would run the next day in a new place/ vacation spot.

Today is my run in the city morning. In the 6.50 mile run I found my street and some of the political, religious, and cultural sightings of the city. My run started at 5:30a.m., which was a cool 65 degrees and hardly anyone out. I did people waiting at the bus stop to go to work and they had on mask. Around mile three I saw more men working, police and construction workers, they were everywhere, getting ready to start work.

I wonder if they see many runners in the early morning or am I an odd duck?

The 6.50 mile run made me realize that I am out of running shape. There were a couple of hills and I had to stop, take a breathe or two or three, walk a bit, then try to finish running up them. Normally I would be in running training with the heartbreakers running crew or doing a treadmill Thursday running workout. My stamina and endurance is not were it should be, can be.

I made that note to myself. 6.50 miles 1:09:35, 10:43 min/mil pace
