Running like the bunnies

Running like the bunnies

COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”

Post 4th of July holiday weekend Monday has started. I actually took Sunday as my day to rest, recharge and disconnect. Sunday was a good day to hang by the water. To avoid the heat I visited New Bedford, Massachusetts( home of the Whale Museum and Moby Dick) and then headed 45 minutes from there to visit Newport, Rhode Island, known for the “ Cliffwalk” , summer cottage houses..aka.. rich people’s mansions, Newport Jazz Festival, and the Tennis Hall of frame. By the time I got home, the rain was coming down hard.

This morning the air was fresh. Usually after the rain, there is a newness, freshness in the air. It’s clean, if that makes any sense. Wanting to take advantage of the cool air before it got hot, I ran along the water this morning. The city was slightly covered by a gentle fog, which was calming to look at as I ran.

Not sure what the rain stirred up because it was also bunny central. The bunnies were out in full force. Maybe because it was more of them then me, they didn’t hop away. I thought I should run as fast as a bunny….somewhat.

I will say that my left knee felt good and strong, no pain. For 3.60 miles I kept a good pace and a strong strive. I’m knocking on wood that this keeps up.

There were people out running this morning. I could see them from afar. No one was close on me. I just saw moving running bodies ahead of me or down the street to the right or left of me. Or bodies running straight towards me before they turned.

Everyone was just running like bunnies this morning.
