Monday a.m. hustle starts

COVID-19 “The Rona”

The Monday hustle grind has started. This week I have to get up and out to run extra early because we are going to have a heat wave over the next couple of days. When the heat cometh, I want to run close to the water. Today I ran in South Boston along Fan Pier.

My goal of today and this week: to up my mileage. I want to start running 4 miles as my regular baseline instead of three.

This morning I was running as the sun was rising and it was still cool. This is when you can feel the heat coming, I knew it was coming. Also running in South Boston, I had to mask up while running. There were so many construction workers around me until it wasn’t funny. As a side note, I only saw two women wearing the reflective orange or yellow shirts in the sea of men wearing all the shirts. I could not run without running into a construction worker. At 5:50a.m. they were up and ready to go to work.

Besides dodging the runners, I saw a black woman MTA bus driver with her Black Lives Matter mask and I smiled and gave her a virtual high five and she smile and gave me one back. That totally filled my heart with joy and was a happy surprise for the morning.

Truth be told, my legs felt strong this morning. I need to work on my stamina. I need to eat like a “ runner.” I stopped a couple of times and counted to 30 before running. I want to get to a point were I can keep on running without stopping.

My goal was 4 miles and I ran 4.15 miles this morning. Always a work in progress
