Loops around the Pond

Loops around the Pond

COVID-19, “The Rona Era”

The 10k a.m. humpday did not happen today. I’m tired and my period is coming. I’m in a low energy mode this morning. Yesterday I participated in a six and half hour bargaining session as a silent observer. With school about to start and no clue guidelines or directions on vaccinations and mask mandates it’s a hot mess. In addition to us not having a contract and wanting to get everything taken care of before school starting in two weeks. Things are moving fast and the issues around vax and mask mandates and policies are complex. Without question, this will be a school year like no other.

Last night was a glass of red wine night. Today, I know I needed to move even if I didn’t run 6 miles. I decided to walk around Horn Pond. The loop around the pond is two miles. Walking is better than not doing anything at all. I didn’t start walking until 6:25a.m. this morning.

It was a good cool walk. Many people were out walking around the pond. So many of the beautiful, yes I said it, beautiful stalkers were out. It was peaceful and relaxing. I took the morning in.

After the first loop of two miles, I thought I would run the second loop. I started to run and after a mile in, my friend Angie called me. I thought I could run and talk to her at the same time. That was an epic fail. Normally I would not have answered her call but Ang, is a special ed teacher in Ohio and today was the first day the kids were back. She is going through the same craziness around mask, safety, vaccines, and returning to school.

I walked and talked with her for the last mile. 3 miles of walking, 1 mile of running, and stalking watching everywhere. This was my Wednesday a.m.

8/20 = 8.20 miles
