Friday post Rain Run

Friday post Rain Run

COVID-19, “The Rona Era”

It rained and rained last night. Thursday overall was just rainy. It was also the first day of school for Boston school kids. Thursday was rainy, yellow school bus crazy, traffic insane kind of day. Yesterday I didn’t run. Instead I took a yoga class at 7:30a.m. I’m trying to work on my breathing and stretching. Four Corners Yoga and Massage is in Dorchester. It is owned by a black woman, who also runs with Black Girls Run. I don’t know why I didn’t know that before. Yeah. It’s a nice, calming space on busy Washington Ave. The morning class lasted an hour and time went by fast. I think that will be my Thursday jam.

Today is Friday and I need to get my body ready for our 7th annual Road to Wellness 5k race on Saturday. The struggle to get up this morning was real.I know I needed to get up and I will feel better if I did. It wasn’t going to be light until 6:19a.m. I knew I could wait until then to go running.

My running plan was to run a 5k in my neighborhood. I’m still a bit sore from yoga, which I shouldn’t be. I was running at a gentle pace. The air always smells so clean and fresh after a rain. I was enjoying the fresh air and putting fresh miles on my feet. I did see a lot of women out running this morning. Just an interesting side note there.

I eventually saw the kids wearing mask with their parents walking to school. School is back in session for sure! Good way to start the day
