COVID-19, “The Rona Era”

And just like that it’s February. Not sure how that happened. It’s the first of the month and it’s the start of Black History month. It only seemed right to get my miles in, in Roxbury. Plus I want to work on doing a hill workout. I knew of some hill repeats I can do in roxbury.

Once again, the struggle was real to get my ass out of bed. I think because I slept crappy last night, I wanted extra rest today. Around 5:45a.m. I got to moving and waking up my body. I don’t even know how many miles I’m suppose to do today. I’ll go for 6.

When I got to Roxbury, I ran about 3 miles on the street before I started running up and down the hills. Unfortunately the morning traffic made it extra challenging as cars were going down the one way streets that I should be going up. This is why I wanted to start running early to avoid some of this. I can’t force the sleep that I needed.

I made it work. Yes to training. Going up the inclines was tough but it wasn’t as bad as it could have been. I’m starting to see the impact of training. I felt strong running up the hills.

I ran a bit over six miles 6.35iles at 12:06 pace. 1h , 16mins. This was my first time doing the hills. I now have an idea of what I need to do and what I have to work on.

As I ran, I thought about Tyre Nichols, who is getting buried today! The fight for justice is ongoing.
