Placed 400 out of 919 half runners. 1352 people for half and 5k.  37 out of 117 for females 40-49. 178 out of 511 for females overall Finished Time: 2:09:38

Highlights:

  1.  This was less than 45min drive. I didn’t mind waking up early for the quick drive. Race started at 7:15am..yes!!!
  2. At 7am it was 76 degrees humid and muggy.
  3. There were hills and then the sun and heat came out around 8am and then it got painful
  4. So soaked!! I was the angry hot runner. At one point, I thought it was starting to rain…no. It was my sweat. That is how hot and soaked I got.
  5. Noticing a theme of me running by water.
  6. Good highlights : Man with shirt off and beautiful poetic movement of his back muscles that made me run faster and had me hypnotized for 2 miles...thank you.
  7. Met another African American woman from DC whose running 50 states too. She is also apart of Black Girls Run. This was her 7th state. Learned some tips for taking pictures while running.
  8. This race was not as diverse as Connecticut but I did see some sprinkles of brown and black. I’m starting to notice…it’s becoming clear that running these races I’m in majority white spaces.
