Spring came to visit for a 5 miler

Spring came to visit for a 5 miler

COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”

It’s 57 degrees and it’s 5:05 a.m… whoot, whoot. Normally I have to leave article to drive to campus. Today is a review day for my students for their exam this Friday. It’s nice this morning and I have time to run. I can run and not rush to get on campus. Also yesterday, I had a community acupuncture appointment. I wanted to test out the knees.

I didn’t need layers or mittens to run this morning. So exciting because it’s still winter and we are suppose to get a snow storm on Friday. I’m thinking about today not Friday. I put on my light running tights and headed out the door. Normally Wednesdays are a 10k a.m. humpday run. I was taking my time, going slow, steady, and strong. I ran along the East Boston Waterfront because it has been a while since I’ve done that. Hardly anyone was out at 5. I saw a couple of people walking to the T but that was it.

My only no-no was not putting on my headlight when I went to run. I did pass by another female runner and she smile and waved at me. I was happy to have that interaction and female acknowledgement.

I did make a conscious effort to run up some inclines to get in some hill work this morning. When I looked at the time, I saw I had run 4 miles and I wanted to make this a 10k run. But time wasn’t on my side. If I ran a 10k I would be rushing. If I ran a 5 miler, then no rushing would happen. I chose the 5 miler run today. Tomorrow I will run either 7 or 8 miles. I was ok with that.

5 miles on an amazing winter Wednesday morning. I’m glad spring came to visit today
