Chasing the Sunshine and Planes

Chasing the Sunshine and Planes

COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”

This is the last week running in Boston before turning 50 and heading to Cincy. The plan was a 10k this morning. Sleep and 5 miles was calling my name. The birds start chirping away at 5 in the morning. I didn’t see them until I left my house at 6 a.m.

It was a perfectly cool, fall like morning. Quiet, at first. The sun was slowly starting to rise. As I ran, I felt as if I was chasing the sun. Or maybe she was following me. This morning, I felt heavy. Not sure if I eat enough last night. My body, my leg, felt strong. I felt as if I was out of gas. I needed more energy. Oh well. I kept on pushing.

I ran through Brenman Street Park and to the East Boston connector. My goal was to stop at the marsh and see the airplanes. I saw the planes. Truthfully, I could have stayed there for a while. I knew I had to get to work this morning.

Running back and towards the park, I started to see more people out and about running/walking. This was a good morning for it.

I’m still winning. I didn’t run a 5k or 10k this morning. 5 miles is good. Next run, 10k is the complete goal.

5.15 miles; 48:12; 11:16 min/mile.
