Back to longer runs for Track Tuesday
ERA of Today Fall was knocking on Spring’s door. It was 60s at 5:30a.m. and this girl needed a sweater. But I refuse. It is still summer and I’m not ready. With the post Mob mile glow of Thursday, we return back to training for longer distances for Track Tuesday. Today’s workout is a 10min tempo run, 2 min break. 3x200s at 10k, 5k pace with a 1 minute break, then repeat.
My track math told me that 10 min tempo will be a mile and 4 times around the track. But that was in my head. As a Pacer, I probably needed to dial it down a bit a go slower. I told team Red that tempo would be at 10:30pace. Today, all the groups were a lot smaller, post Mob Mile. Also, as we get later into August, vacations and back to school events are happening.
The first 10 minutes we all did it together. I was around a 10:30 pace. My crew thought I was going too fast. I made sure to Pace at a comfortable pace for them. The next 10 min tempo. The pace was 10:45 and they were right behind me. I must be getting stronger and better because I feel faster. Strength training is helping so much. Heck, I did the mob mile in 9:02minutes with my knee and I haven’t been running like I use to. Progress not Perfection.
Today was a good day.
